I loved this short novella where we have Jordan and Wren story, whom I met in Promised vow, but appear also in Corio Heights series, making the link between both. It’s instalust, sweet, easy to read and/or to listen, and even with the short format I got the feeling that the characters’s development is very well done.
This is a Promises Promises prequel novella. I read the story and listened to the audiobook narrated by Zachary Zara, and enjoyed both.

I got an ARC and an ALC, and this is my honest review.

Zachary Zaba does a beautiful job in bringing these two life in what is sure to become a comfort listen when need a shorty.
a beautiful short story in typing Ryes Kither Springs’ new universe to her established and loved Corio Heights universe. Wren has a traveling blog to show the world the beauty of it without a true home to land at. he has the boys of Sweet Buns yet not someone to call his own. Jordan works hard running his business to the point he really is left with that only. One fateful night, these two cross paths, and Jordan gives Wren the place to land even when his adventures take him all over. A well-balanced shory story where you don’t feel you are missing out but do make you want to try more from the author.

When Wren’s van breaks down in the middle of nowhere and he’s rescued by Jordan he never expects to find love and the home he always wanted.

In this sweet, insta-love novella we see how famous vlogger Wren put the small town of Kither Springs on the map. It’s a cute, short look into the Promises, Promises series.

(We also get a glimpse of Caleb and Zach of The New Neighbor from the Corio Heights series.)

Narrated really well by Zachary Zaba too.

    Short But So Cute

This is Wren and Jordan’s story which connects the Promises, Promises series to the Corio Heights series. This was so cute to read and I loved Zachary Zaba’s narration for this as usual. I highly recommend reading and/or listening to this one.

This book is a prequel to Rye’s Promises Promises series and features Wren, a vlogger from Corio City, and Jordan, a construction company owner from Kither Springs. The two meet when Wren’s van breaks down late at night and Jordan, who just happens to live nearby, stops to help. Marge (Wren’s van) is out for the count until a new belt is procured, so Wren stays with Jordan, exploring the countryside around Kither Springs and building a quickly developing relationship with Jordan in the week that follows. Short, sweet, and spicy, the book is entertaining and characters are engaging.

I read the book while listening to it and it was a new experience for me. I think I could have actually read the book faster without the audio, but I enjoyed the narrator’s two voices, giving the characters more depth. The deeper voice fit Jordan well, and the flirtiness in Wren also came through well.

A quick, entertaining read, I would recommend either the book or audio alone, but it was more fun together. If you are a fan of Rye’s books, this will be right up your alley, and if you want a new author to fall in love with, this is a way to start out with a new series or get interested in an older one, the Corio Heights series. All of Rye’s books are good.

I received an advance copy of both the book and audiobook from the author and this is my voluntary review.

I read the ebook of this and listened to the audio.

Starting with the audio: Zachary Zaba is a fantastic narrator. I loved the way he brought Wren and Jordan to life.

The story is super short, but I thought it was the perfect bite-sized read/listen. Nothing was missing, which is a hard thing to accomplish in a short novella like this, so kudos to Rye for that feat! Wren and Jordan are both well-developed and well-rounded characters. They are immensely likable on their own and compliment each other well. At the beginning of the story, I thought “oh no, these guys are too different, someone is going to have make big, scary changes for this relationship to work.” Wren is constantly in motion, never staying in one place too long like a bird in migration. Jordan is steadfast with deep roots. But they do manage to compromise and make the relationship work in a way that I didn’t expect, but fit beautifully and neither had to compromise what is important to them.

This is a sweet little novella I’ll return to whenever I am short on time, but don’t want to get pulled into a longer story. It’s low-angst, super sweet, and light hearted.

    This is an audiobook review.

Wren has been alone for a long time, always searching for family.
He found it at Sweet Buns and couple Caleb and Zach became his family but he desperately wants a love like theirs.
He has a vlogging channel and goes on adventures with Marge, his van.
He ends up on the side of the road and Jordan comes to his rescue.
Jordan is a workaholic who’s also looking for something more.
These two were so sweet and had immediate chemistry.
I loved how perfectly matched they were.
Zachary Zaba did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.

This was super short at 45 minutes.
It’s very cute sweet story with a lot of insta and a happy ever after.
It doesn’t give you time to really acquainted with the characters and there’s not much story. However it’s fun and sweet prequel to the series.
