There’s always something to look forward to after a shitstorm.

I thought nothing could be worse than being cheated on, then my ex proves me wrong by parading around his affair partner at our cousins’ wedding.
It’s a week and a half long event at a ski lounge, and I’m stuck watching their sickening PDA. Not only that, my ex is set on rubbing his new relationship in my face at every chance he can get.
As if things aren’t complicated enough, my ex’s other cousin offers himself as a buffer.
Jensen lives abroad and is the free spirit of his family. I’m warned against him. He’s known as a bit of a Casanova, and I allegedly fall in love with any man who can make me laugh (which I do not! I vow never to love again).
But Jensen’s more than just the funny guy who’s helping me keep my ex off my back. The more time we spend together, the more I want to dive straight into complicated and forget all about my vow of singlehood.
Even if it’s all fake, I know he’s mine to keep.
Bluebird Day is a standalone fake dating MM holiday romance featuring endless banter, one nosy family, an MC who swore off love (who’s he kidding?), stranded on a ski lift ;), and a slow burn that ends in the sweetest happily ever after.

Zachary Zaba brings that right amount of humor to fit this unique cast of characters. You never lose your place whose pov or whose speaking. Well worth a listen.
David’s bestie/cousin Dahlia is getting married and unfortunately for him his best friends fiancé is cousins with his cheating ex. Jensen moved across the Atlantic to chase the next great slope, not realizing how much family madness hes missing until he comes to celebrate his cousin griffins wedding. To avoid conflict or at least looks David agrees to fake date Jensen. The two have a great chemistry and their banter is so dang palpable. Their humor plays right off the other, mix in a bunch of crazy relatives and this is to be sire a holiday no will forget. This one just has that right balance of heat, humor and ridiculous family shenanigans!

I picked this book up because I have loved every Rye Cox book I’ve listened to, and I’m also obsessed with Zachary Zaba’s narration.
Zachary and Rye both hit it out of the park again with this one. The story takes place over the span of a few weeks. David and Jensen are at a ski resort for David’s cousin’s wedding. Jensen steps in to save David and pretends to be his fake boyfriend.
I loved all of this but my favorite parts were Jensen teaching David to Ski, the wedding fixes, the seafood obsession, and the lines.
I listened to this in less than 24 hours, so easy to eat up.

I absolutely loved this adventure between Jensen and David. They started out a little rocky, David is at his best friends wedding when his ex boyfriend (who is the cousin of his best friend) is there with his new boyfriend, David sees another one of his ex’s cousin’s Jensen and that is where this love story started. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read/hear what happens next.

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
I adored listening to this audiobook! It features a fake relationship with forced proximity. David is attending his best friend/cousin’s wedding, unfortunately, so is his cheating ex. Jensen is the cousin of David’s ex and he steps up to help David when the ex starts belittling him.
I loved the chemistry these two have together. What starts out as a fake relationship gradually turns into something neither of them can deny. The biggest sticking point is that Jensen lives in England but they are determined to make it work.
I loved the secondary characters in this story. They are all family/extended-family members and they are a hoot at times. David’s family is Chinese and I liked that representation. I haven’t read many books with a Chinese MC. I almost forgot to mention the inventive way that Jensen came up with to save the day for Dahlia and Griffin’s wedding. Not saying what that way because it would be too spoiler-y. 😊
Zachary Zaba did a great job performing this audiobook.

I received a free ALC. This review is submitted voluntarily.
“But you’re a free spirit. You do things to the beat of your own drum, which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s hard to be in a relationship with someone who’s always on the move. Aren’t you always joking about how your relationships never last longer than a month because of this?”
Bluebird Day is a fake-dating romance set in a ski resort at Thanksgiving. Jensen and David are sweet and funny. What I loved about the book is how Jensen stepped in to help David in front of his ex, pretending to be his boyfriend. Also, that even though their relationship started just for pretend, it felt like something more almost immediately. Their connection was effortless and it was easy to see why they fell for each other. Their personalities fit together in a way that just worked. And what to say about the secondary characters and the extended family (soooo many relatives), hilarious.
It’s a charming, feel-good romance with lots of laughs, lovable characters, and a fake relationship that never stood a chance of staying fake. I read it in less than one day!
The audiobook narration by Zachary Zaba really helped bring the characters and their playful dynamic to life. The funny moments were even funnier in audio. I really enjoyed listening to it.
Thank you, Rye Cox for this free ALC in exchange for an honest review.
